OFF ICE:

We will have OFF ICE Training everyday in between ice sessions. We will be bringing various exercises tools from RC4 Training Facility to put the kids through various workouts. The campers will learn HOW to train properly, different ways to train, and WHY we train the way we do. All exercises will be age/experience appropriate.

CAMP LAYOUT:

Each Day will have two ice sessions. In the morning session, we will be teaching individuals skills that mainly apply to the forward position itself. We will break down these skills, and allow the proper repetitions for the athletes to apply them.

In our afternoon session (On Ice #2), we will be applying those individual skills we worked on in the first skate, into game like scenarios. This will allow the athletes to further work on that skill, but now in a game like scenario to make it more realistic. This will show the kids how we work on applying our skills into our games, and why we emphasize certain details in our training. We will ALWAYS follow this all up with some sort of small area competition, where NOW they are able to apply them into an actual game.

FORWARD SKILLS BEING TAUGHT:

Corner Work: (Puck Protection, Retrievals, In Tight Passing, Escape Moves, D-Zone getting pucks out)

Net Front Work: (Tips, Rebounds, Battling for Space, In Tight Scoring)

Neutral Zone:(Zone Entries, Scoring Off The Rush, Back Checking, Pressuring D-Men)

D-Zone: (Defensive Positioning and Roles, Breakout Options, Winning Wall Battles,)

Offensive Zone: ( Creating Offense in Small Areas, Shooting Options/Different Scenarios, Using the Points, Finding Open Space)

OFF ICE:

We will have OFF ICE Training everyday in between ice sessions. These will take place in the RC4 Hockey Training Facility, located in the basement of ICEWORKS Rink 4. We will not only be going through workouts, but we will be teaching the girls HOW to train specifically for hockey, WHY we train the way we do, and how it will benefit them on the ice. ALL EXERCISES will be performed under the watchful eye of TRAINED professionals, and will always be age/experience appropriate exercises.
